If you’ve played lagori when you were a kid, then your childhood was awesome. And in this belief, on children’s day, we’re super excited to finally release the music video for the song Boom Shankar, by Lagori.
You can watch the video on TV too on music channels like MTV, 9x, Zoom, Vh1 and Times Music.
3 long months of shooting and editing, has finally come to this. Its been a roller coaster ride, with ideas and shots changing every week. We went into it without much expectations, the only one being that it should resonate the words Boom Shankar, and all that it stands for.
The city of Bangalore has been a cultural hub and a catalyst for Lagori’s music. And we felt there was no better way to return the favour by shooting the video across different parts of the city. From crowded markets to empty playgrounds, slow traffic to fast trains, we’ve covered it all. With the finale at Brigade Road, we could think of no better way to end the video.
A lot of the work that went into it wouldn’t be possible, without the following people. Neil Dsouza, who conceptualised, directed, shot and edited the film. The band members Geeth, Vinyl, Edward, Tejas and Shalini. And then last, but not the least, Sladen D’silva for also shooting and editing the film.
The making of the film was also helped in generous amounts by Panidhar, who shot in Brigade road with us. Not to mention, Chetan, Reo, Christopher, Lenora, Geetanjali and Caroline making cameos in the video. A big shout out for Vinod who managed sound at the Brigade road gig.
Also, a big thanks to the B-Boy Zuboo and his crew, Graffitti revlution, for all the breakneck moves in the video. We genuinely appreciate his work of teaching dance to under-privileged kids in the NGV-Koramangala area. Heartfelt gratitude to the people we pissed off on Brigade road for stopping traffic, and the bands supporters for showing up in huge numbers, even in the rain.
A special mention goes to 1st December for mentoring us, and also for providing us with equipment on the shoot.
